Responsible for various internal and external activities relating to the Distribution Centers' environmental, health, and safety programs as well as building and grounds maintenance. Acts in a facilitator/consultative role with vendors and suppliers to ensure facility equipment is maintained, repaired or replaced to ensure the division remains fully operational.
Works with the site Managers to develop appropriate monitoring procedures and controlling processes to support energy management.
Coordinates with the Corporate Safety Manager to implement risk reduction measures such as fire protection, hazardous materials and safety procedures.
Documents and maintains records relating to facility maintenance and safety (spreadsheets, reports, vendor contracts, equipment repair files, safety training, inspections and MSDS sheets.)


1. Oversees repairs and upkeep of all areas of the facility including building, grounds, conveyors, systems, and storage structures / devices.

2. Establishes and drive continuous improvement in the facilities monitoring and record keeping data management systems to ensure compliance with policies and federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.

3. With guidance from the Corporate Safety Manager, develops action plans for activities, perform follow-up on these activities, and report status to Management and Corporate leaders.

4. Supports and promotes safe practices and environmental commitments in alignment with company commitments, policies, and compliance requirements.

5. Handles incident investigation, reporting and tracking.

6. Has responsibility to track all recommendations from audits.

7. Supports the function in the overall planning, co-ordination and implementation of the site safety, occupational health, environmental, fire protection and emergency response programs / plans and procedures to meet requirements.

8. Assists in the management of the site security and access control systems.

9. Conducts safety inspections and act as a resource to supervisors, managers, and outside contractors to ensure timely assistance on safety.

10. Coordinates and assists the Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of Fire Protection and Emergency Response equipment

11. Develop and recommend safety-focused measures to assure personnel safety.

12. Conducts safety meetings to share learnings and proposed rectification steps.

13. Coordinates all site training.

14. Develops awareness and improvement initiatives encourage employee involvement

15. Develops and conducts new employee orientation for all applicable topics.

16. Acts as liaison between site and all corporate support. Reviews, recommends and implements additions, modifications and improvements.

17. Participates in and supports safety committee.

18. Maintains balance between and facilities management responsibilities


At least 2-5 years of facilities experience

Bachelor's degree in related field preferred


1. Basic knowledge of OSHA and other regulatory agencies.

2. Basic maintenance skills, including the use of hand and power tools.

3. Skilled in the use of PCs including Windows, Word, Excel, Google mail & calendar

4. Solid communication skills (verbal and written), ability to interact with management and a wide spectrum of individuals. Must have ability to persuade, explain and present recommendations

5. Forklift and some powered equipment experience is preferred.
